Suave recently came out with a few new products, one of which is the dry shampoo. I have to say, this is hands down the best dry shampoo I've used so far. I don't like anything that makes your hair really white (Batiste) and I don't like anything that makes you feel like you can't breathe (Tresemme).
Suave will get white if you're really close, but the bottle says to warm this with your hands and it will disappear. This is true, although I tested it out on some others that I've tried and it doesn't work as well- so this must just be some Suave magic.
About breathing. I can not spray Tresemme in a small room (as in bathroom, where most women do their hair). It gets in my throat and saturates my lungs. It's just one of those really pungent, overpowering fragrances. The Suave has a really strong smell too, but it's sweet so it isn't as bad in my opinion. It almost smells like cotton candy.
There is one downfall. I don't know if I got a bad bottle or what, but that 5 oz disappeared very quickly. I believe the others are about 6 oz but they last much longer for some reason. Anyone else experience this? It can also sometimes make your hair feel thicker than some of the other products on the market. This can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. All in all, I'd say it's a good buy at under $3.
~~~all products mentioned purchased by yours truly~~~~~
****quick side note- Tresemme does have everyone beat with their refresher. It's the citrus smelling one- and it actually does a really good job of eliminating odor and making your hair shiny.****
CVS (Note they've started using mfr coupons in their ad as an actual subtraction. I know they'd show you the coupons were available before but now they actually list it as a price reduction. This is a dumb move, CVS. Prepare for your cashiers to be bombarded with questions about why their product isn't cheaper based on the ad. Mfr coupons are not part of your sale, you shouldn't advertise them as such)
I also noticed the CVS sale paper had the coupons listed as part of the sale price and I thought it was sort of an underhanded way to advertise. It turned me off so much that I spend all my money budgeted for sales this week at Walgreens instead.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your review on the Suave dry shampoo! I've been wanting to try it and came across a $1 off coupon in a magazine the other day, so I think I will pick one up this coming week!
It's such a shame that all dry shampoos have such a strong scent! I wonder why that is..
I love the Suave dry shampoo but mine emptied really fast too. I think I used it three times and the can feels like it's empty. =(
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that CVS is doing that as well. I feel sorry for the people that are gonna have to explain that over, and over, and over again (ex-retail cashier, here XD). I snagged some free vouchers for those Professionals products and have been wondering about the dry shampoo. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI've used my Suave several times & no emptiness. I thought it smelled kinda citrus-y. I prefer the Ojon one, but as I'm a SAHM Suave will have to do.
ReplyDeleteThe Suave dry shampoo is the best! Beats out the other pricey ($20+) ones I have by far. Nice, pleasent scent, no white residue (unless you get really close and saturated) and it easily brushes to fresh looking hair! Target had a buy 4 Suave products, get a $5 gift card last week, so I spent all of $12 and got $5 back :) Yeah!
ReplyDeletehey girl i hope you are okay. I noticed last week that you didn't update the DS sales (figuared you were busy). I hope everything is okay with you. Take care.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Adebola, I'm just fine now :)
ReplyDeleteAmber- I missed that deal, wish I would have seen it. I'll have to stock up next time!
Trailerhood Chic- Citrus-y? Hmm... I don't have a good sniffer (ha!) so it could be.
Love, B- Isn't it silly? Just say there's a coupon coming out. They haven't done it since so maybe they realized that.
Nonailstoday- Mine was probably triple that but still it felt a little too light.
Bethany- it's probably to help with odor, right, but at least make it pleasant. The Tressemme one is NOT pleasant :)
Peace, Love and Sparkles- I haven't seen it since so hopefully they got the message :) and I'm going to have to snag that mag for the coupon!
